Arts, Foundry, Sarah Del Giudice, Sculpture
Sarah Del Giudice gets in touch with art and its techniques at the Del Giudice Art Foundry, run by her family; based on the valuable lessons of her father Leonardo, she develops an individual creative process rich in meanings. This place is extremely important for her, since it acts as a protective nest or rather as an idea and culture incubator, which has laid the foundations for her personal and artistic growth.
Today, she manages the Del Giudice Art Foundry together with her brother Giacomo, projecting the ancient skill and know-how of her family into the present and future, without neglecting the contemporary techniques but preserving the Renaissance appearance of an art foundry, where artists used to gather to create and exchange ideas.
Through the Foundry, Leonardo handed down his experience and passion to Giacomo and Sarah. Their aim is to emphasise the value of manual labour, the result of skills gained over time and based on experience: “We are outsiders in a world which moves too fast, since we want to pause and recover the value of manual work.“
A tradition of forty years in these techniques has culminated with the creation of contemporary, classical and modern works of art with different sizes made of bronze, brass and aluminium. The Del Giudice Foundry deals with the entire realisation process, from the design of the mock-up to the final work thanks to the cooperation with skilled professionals expert in modelling, wax moulding and finishing. The works thus obtained now belong to private collections, galleries or public places throughout the whole Europe.
